Castine School Committee Board Goals
By June 03, 2026, the Board will ensure the development and implementation of a comprehensive maintenance schedule to improve the condition and functionality of the Adams School facilities. This initiative will include:
Scheduling of at least three major facility upgrades (e.g., HVAC system improvements, roof repairs, and window replacements).
Quarterly building inspections to monitor progress and identify future needs.
Collaboration with the Castine School Committee, Adams school leadership, and school union management to prioritize projects, secure funding, and schedule work with minimal disruption.
Outcome: These improvements will provide a safe, healthy, and sustainable learning environment, supporting both current and future educational needs and aligning with district goals for educational excellence and infrastructure sustainability.
In 2026, the school committee will review 2 policies per meeting and determine which, if any, need revision. Additionally, each school committee member will engage in at least two structured professional development sessions focused on governance, policy, and student outcomes.
